La Chronique Médiévale
Suite aux deux conférences tenues respectivement en 1996 et 1999 un volume d’actes a été publié: il s’agit de The Medieval Chronicle, vols. I and II (Amsterdam: Rodopi, 1999, 2002).
Dû à un manque de place, seulement une petite séléction d’articles a pu être publiée dans ces actes. C’est pour cette raison qu’il a été décidé de publier non plus un, mais au moins deux volumes d’actes entre les conférences. Le volume III paraîtra dans le courant de cette année 2004; le volume IV, quant à lui, paraîtra en 2005.
Délai d’envoi des contributions à La Chronique Médiévale, vol. IV repoussé
Malheureusement, un crash de disque dûr a quelque peu retardé la publication de La Chronique Médiévale III. Suite à cela, les contributions au tome IV sont toujours les bienvenues, et peuvent être envoyées à Erik Kooper, à l’adresse ci-dessous. Le nouveau délai pour l’envoi d’articles a été fixé au 1 juin 2004. Comme d’habitude, toutes les contributions seront équitablement jugées par un comité d’éditeurs/lecteurs.

Die Chronik des Mittelalters
Nach den ersten beiden Konferenzen von 1996 und 1999 wurde ein Band mit den Beiträgen veröffentlicht: The Medieval Chronicle, Bd. I und II (Amsterdam: Rodopi, 1999, 2002). Da durch Platzbeschränkung nur eine kleine Auswahl der Beiträge in diesen Bänden vertreten sein konnte, wurde beschlossen, dass nicht nur ein, sondern mindestens zwei Bände zwischen den Konferenzen herausgegeben werden sollten. Im Laufe dieses Jahres, 2004, wird Band III erscheinen, und Band IV im Jahre 2005.
Die Deadline für Beiträge an The Medieval Chronicle, Band IV verschoben.
Leider hat im Dezember letzten Jahres ein Computercrash die Veröffentlichung von The Medieval Chronicle, Band III etwas verzögert. Deshalb sind Beiträge für Band IV. noch immer willkommen und können dem Redakteur Erik Kooper an die untenstehende Adresse geschickt werden. Die Deadline für Beiträge ist jetzt der 1. Juni 2004. Wie immer wird ein Kollegium von Redakteuren/Lesern alle zugeschickten Beiträge überarbeiten.

The Medieval Chronicle
At the General Meeting in Doorn last year (2002) it was decided to turn the proceedings volume into a yearbook. Although it is at this moment not feasible to produce a volume annually, the frequency of appearance will go up to at least two volumes in three years. Our publisher, Rodopi, have therefore formally enlisted The Medieval Chronicle as a journal, with an appropriate ISBN.
The Medieval Chronicle, vol. III
Preparations have begun to get the new volume into shape for the publisher; it is expected that volume III will be out early next year. This volume will include the text of the plenary lecture of the 2002 conference by Gillette Labory and 15 or 16 conference papers.
Call for Papers for The Medieval Chronicle, vol. IV
While work on vol. III is going on, the editor of course has to think ahead and make plans for vol. IV. The other plenary lecture of the conference, that by Peter Ainsworth, will open this volume, which will also contain a few more of the conference papers, e.g. those of Letty ten Harkel and John Ward. However, at the conference we also agreed that the contents of the yearbook should not be restricted to conference papers. Hence you hereby receive a call for papers for vol. IV. The deadline is 15 March 2004. As always, all papers submitted will be peer reviewed by a board of editors/readers.
The Medieval Chronicle, vol. I
As announced before, Rodopi Publishers are planning to reprint our first proceedings volume, The Medieval Chronicle, vol. I, which did so well that it was completely sold out within two years. We will keep you up-to-date on this.
The 4th International Conference on the Medieval Chronicle
The organising committee at Reading University have begun preparations for the conference to be held at their university in 2005. The dates are Friday July 15 to Tuesday July 19. Papers on all aspects of medieval chronicles will be welcome. Enquiries should be sent to Professor Peter Noble at: lfsnoble{at}reading.ac.uk.
